Summary: Jenny is an assassin gone bad, or at least, an assassin on the lam from a job gone bad. All she really wants is to live in peace. When a resistance hacker crashes on her tiny planet, that quiet life ends in a fiery blaze. Now she has the most deadly assassin, Tina on her trail, possibly the only other person equal to her skill in dealing death, and a man she desperately needs to protect.
In a world where no one gets fired, and assassins are corporate head-hunters, literally, there is no place far enough for Jenny to run where Tina can't follow.
My review: Well, this wasn't exactly a romance novel. It was, as billed, action packed, and bloody. Even still, I didn't hate it. I did kind of wish for more in the romance department. I might have had more sympathy for the blood-soaked anti-heron sooner.

There are a lot of mysteries surrounding the making of assassins, and no answers forthcoming in this book, which leads me to suspect it isn't the only one set in this world. I think that's a good thing. Grubbe has created an admittedly harsh environment for these ladies to survive, but they're tough, and essentially likeable in the end, and I was satisfied with the resolution of the immediate conflict. I do think there's a whole bigger picture to be addressed, though, and I hope to see more from Grubbe in the future.
Also, I kinda wanted more of the little hints of love and romance and, well, yeah, the sex. But hey, one takes what one can get, and in this case, I got a fast read, great plot and rich world just spoiling for many more stories.
My recommendation: Good book to read, especially if there's going to be another one.
Rated three and half Delightful Divas by Jaime!
