Goldie's Bear by Pat Dale
Publisher: Red Rose Publishing
Genre: Comedy

Summary: Who knows the magic in a simple kiss?
When Lucy Fox agreed at her mom’s deathbed to care for her invalid dad, she had no idea her commitment would spell loneliness. Approaching thirty with no hint of romance in her life, Lucy’s soul yearns for that fabled fairy prince to rescue her.
Thom Hill arrives on the scene, looking and acting more like an ugly frog than the princely character Lucy dreams of each night. But who knows the magic in a simple kiss? So, if you knew a wonderful strong handsome hero of a man was just one kiss away, would you do it?
Would you kiss a frog? Lucy did and GOLDIE’S BEAR tells what she got for her effort.

My Review: When I first started this book, I was drawn in by Lucy’s character. She reminded me of the inner Midwest girl that I once was, who is devoted to their family and the one that she loves. I am not normally one to bash a book but about half way through I was wondering if I would be able to do the same as Lucy and keep hitting my head against the brick wall of Thom’s pride. Unfortunately I can’t say I would. I admire her determination but to this reviewer it seemed like the story dragged before giving us the prerequisite happily ever after. Most women would’ve thrown their hands in the air and said, I quit! I’m not saying this story isn’t a good one, just one simply not to this reviewer’s taste. I give Goldie’s Bear Two and half Delightful Divas.
