Point of Distraction: The Second Collection by Cindy Jacks

Point of Distraction: The Second Collection by Cindy Jacks
Publisher: Lyrical Press
Genre: Erotica

Summary:
One good distraction deserves another...and another and another.

Delving further into the life and times of Ana Welsh, the second book in the Point of Distraction series brings a new set of challenges.

In Dirty Pool, Ana Welsh meets an unusually attractive man. Despite seeming to reciprocate Ana's interest, Jordan Christiansen remains aloof and passive. After a few misread signals, it's up to Ana to find out just what game this sexy mystery man is playing.

The Road Less Taken finds Ana taking advice from a massage therapist, who tells her she needs to step outside her comfort zone. Charming and enigmatic, Nikhil might just fit the prescription, but Ana vows to maintain a friendship only. As the sexual tension builds, will she decide to give in to her desires?

Alone in a Crowd exposes the pitfalls of a bottle of tequila, a little black book and drunk-dialing. With four dates in three days, not to mention a surprise visit from her ex, Miguel, Ana discovers she's overbooked her weekend. Even with all this attention, Ana can't help but feel something-or someone-is missing.

Warning: This book contains lots of detailed, hot lovin', a sassy, sexy heroine, an alternate use for a pool table, and a veritable boy buffet. Love can take a lot of practice to get it right

My Review: In the first story, Ana meets Jordan. She feels a connection with him and in the following days, is shocked because he doesn’t call her as she expected. She finally gives in and calls him and they have a nice date, followed by more days of moping. This is not like Ana, because she is a game player, enjoying her different lovers. When they reconnect once again, things go very well. She realizes that Jordan feels the same way, expecting her to be the one that calls.

In the second story, Ana has a horrible day and is also having a dry spell. Jordan is gone for a while and she doesn’t have any interesting prospects. Her manicurist recommends a man that will massage her and help her clear her chakras. After her massage, Ana breaks down and I was given an in-depth look at Ana. It has been hinted in previous stories that maybe Ana is not as happy being a game player as she lets on. The more I get to know her, the more I think that she is a lady that has been hurt and plays this game of hers to avoid that again, while telling herself that she enjoys the game and the lovers. Her massage therapist has a get-together at his house for his clients, where Ana meets Nikhil. He is gorgeous, but after her session with her massage therapist and his advice to her, she decides to forgo her normal game play and becomes friends with him.

In the third story, Jordan returns for one night. Ana enjoys him and feels something for him that she doesn’t normally feel for men. When he has to leave town again in the morning, Ana drops him off at the airport and then goes and gets herself very drunk. The next morning, Ana learns that during her drunken stupor, she called several people, including Miquel, a past boyfriend. She decides to avoid him and schedules a date with Darcy, her “friend” from Florida, on Thursday. She then gets a call from Johnathan her British “friend” and schedules a date with him on Friday. Her weekend is exhausting and she had a lot of fun and even more sex, but she can still not get Jordan out of her head. I am beginning to wonder if Jordan will be the man that will finally settle Ana down, once and for all. Of course, as long as she is thinking that she is emotionally a man, I can’t see that happening.

Cindy Jacks continues to entertain me and heat me with tales of Ana’s conquests. I am beginning to like Ana more and more and even feel a little sorry for her. She is playing a lot of games, but under that, she is a wounded woman getting love the only way she knows how, by staying unattached. Ms. Jacks does a very good job of giving us realistic dialogue and characters and scorching the pages with Ana's conquests!

Rated 4 Delightful Divas by Melissa!
