Point of Distraction: The Third Collection by Cindy Jacks
Publisher: Lyrical Press
Genre: Erotica

Summary: Ana's back -- and as bad as she wants to be!
Third collection in the Point of Distraction Series.
In Ghosts of Ana Past, Ana reconnects with an old flame who stirs up memories of a more carefree time in her life. Now that Eli's set this fire, it's up to Ana to contain the blaze.
Misadventures in cougar-ing plague Ana in Boy Toy. Jake's hot, bold...and only twenty years old. But in the midst of a premature mid-life crisis, what's a girl to do?
Friends with Benefits finds Ana reeling from a family emergency. When Nikhil provides a strong shoulder to cry on, it's all too tempting to toss out that pesky platonic relationship and give in to romance.
My Review: Ana is back for a third collection of stories. Ana is a successful business woman, single, and loves to play games with men, switching lovers frequently. However, under that façade is a wounded woman who has many more issues than she even realizes. It seems that every time she gets a new lover, she has a new thought that brings another issue to the surface, making her a more likeable character for me. In the first story, I met Eli, one of Ana’s old high school boyfriends. They have a nice and very hot reunion. I also learned from this story that Ana was once an aspiring artist, something that even she had nearly forgotten. There is also a short part in the story about Jordan, her doctor lover that is overseas doing charity work. She still has quite a crush on him and I wonder if he may ultimately be the
person she is going to end up with.
Jake was the subject of the second story. Jake is only twenty and had been trying to get Ana’s attention for a while. When he finally does, Ana is so flattered that she has a three week fling with him, ending in disaster. In the midst of the drama, Ana’s friendship with Nikhil deepens and is threatened when he gets a job offer in another city.
Nikhil is our flavor for the third story. After their initial meeting in a previous collection, they decided to be just friends. They have succeeded quite well until now. Ana’s mom had a heart attack and Ana is in Florida with her. Nikhil flies down to support her and in a weak, drunken moment, Ana kisses Nikhil. When they are back at home, they reconnect and make love, leaving Ana terrified that Nikhil may be getting closer to her than she has allowed any man in a long time. Ana is also quitting her job; a job that has been unsatisfying for her.
Although each story in the collections is mostly erotica, Cindy Jacks gives me a deeper glance of Ana with each one. Ana is becoming more real and less slutty with each story, making me think that there are big plans in store for Ana in the future.
