Rockstar by Mina Carter
Publisher: Lyrical Press
Genre: Erotic Romance

Summary: A sexy Rock Star. A man bent on revenge. One explosive love affair.
Zette Matthews, darling of the music industry, has it all: haunting voice, dramatic looks and curvaceous figure. Every woman wants to be her, and every man wants to be with her.
Unlike the rest of her fans, Jarrett Jansen isn't content to adore Zette from afar. He intends to have her. Especially now as he finds himself in need of a wife before his birthday, or he'll lose control of the business he's run for years.
Revenge may be best served cold, but JJ prefers his hot, with a side order of pleasure, secured with a wedding band.
My Review: The title struck me right off since I always love a Rock star story. I was thrilled to find out the heroine, Zette Mathews, was the Rock star. She’s not an arrogant character but one that I could identify with, sexy, talented and unspoiled. In addition, I was thrilled that Zette wasn’t a perfect model thin type but had curves like most women. J.J.’s response to her curves and Zette’s comfort with herself enhanced the appeal of the book and the character.

Ms. Carter did an excellent job matching J.J. Jensen as her lover. Strong, self assured and a cold rogue at first, Zette brought out the best in him. The background story of young lovers was woven in quite well, giving enough but not dragging the pace. A little blackmail added some nice tension and a jumping off point for the story. The sex scenes were enticing and had the right mix of physical and emotion. I was a little disappointed at the lack of confrontation when Zette found out J.J’s coldhearted plan at their wedding but it did come. The mix of J.J.’s attorney, Logan, almost made me wonder if there could be some potential with him and Zette if J.J. didn’t get his ways straightened. J.J succeeded in being a better man to get his woman and I was glad to see a happy ending. To be honest, I would like to see Ms. Carter do a story on the womanizing Logan in the future. It would be a must read for me. As a final note, I’d also like to mention the book cover was outstanding and suited the story perfectly.
Overall, I would recommend Rockstar for a fun read about a strong heroine.
