Summary: A tale of a vampire’s motherly devotion challenged by the threat of falling in love with a human being.

Deep in Shaman’s Forest, the vampire Valkyrie awakens to find her dhampir son, Anthony, ill with a fever. The sorceress says Anthony must have his father’s blood before the next full moon or else he will die. Valkyrie journeys with Anthony into the city to find a man she has not seen in 15 years. But will Anthony’s fascination with human life and Valkyrie’s need to feed on living blood tear them apart before Anthony’s father can be found?

Deb's Review: This is not your ordinary Vampire story. This is a story about a mother's love and what she would do to save her son. Blood Moon Rising will keep you glued to the pages as you watch the story unravel through Val’s eyes.

Val shows the strength and love of a good mom. She needs to save her son, but at what cost to her own soul? As a reader, I wanted more for Val than the endless search she seemingly found herself in.

Bill, the human in our story, was something of a surprise. He found himself in a strange place after he learned the truth about Val. Dealing with his own past, he was in over his head. I enjoyed watching how he made sense of this life.

The bond between Bill and Val was sweet, but not every story needs to end with a man and a woman to be a happy ending. The joy of new hope and life just might be what Val, Anthony, and Bill need.

Do I think this book is worth reading? Yes , I do! It will keep your interest with all the plot changes throughout. The characters are amazing. I even found myself laughing at some of the second string characters. Blood Moon Rising is a sweet success!!

Angela Lam Turpin’s writing is both unique and fascinating. I, for one, will be reading her work again!!

Rated 5 Delightful Divas by Deb!
