Fiji On Fire, Fiji On Ice by Eve Summers
Publisher: Red Rose Publishing
Genre: Contemporary, Interracial/Multicultural

Summary: Why would a massage session in a Fiji holiday resort make Tanya the Ice Queen so sex-starved that she would actually consider paying for sex?
It can't be her project of researching Internet dating sites! Those losers wouldn't be able to turn on a woman even if she came complete with an ON switch.
It can't be the delicious island cocktails of tropical fruit, cream and vodka... even if their names (like Sex On The Beach and Hot Screaming Orgasm) make you blush when you order them.
What is making Tanya lose her focus? Could it be the tight black jeans on the tight black arse of Randy Andy, the alleged con artist?
My Review: This is a rather bold concept. I’ve been reading erotica and romance for darn near twenty years, and I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a plot like this one. Much of that has to do with our technology today, and the strides we’ve made in communicating on-line and the many social networks we have available at our fingertips. You don’t have to go to the bar anymore, folks, to find the love of your life.
When I first met Tanya’s character, I was skeptical and frankly didn’t care for her. More than likely because my small town upbringing and ethics. Leading men on, even in the virtual wo
rld, doesn’t sit right with me, even if it is for the sake of science. As the story progressed, I was surprised to see the prejudices that both main characters had in the book. Tanya’s assumption based on the fact that Randy is black seems to be stereotypical and Randy’s aren’t much better.
Now I know this seems to be a negative review, but it’s not. By the end of the book I was cheering both Randy and Tanya on, hoping against hope they could make it past both of their prejudices and find their happily ever after.
To me this is very much one of the characteristics which make a great author. If the author can take two characters, which the reader doesn’t particularly care for, and by the end of the story have the reader crying and hoping against hope they will end up together, she has done her job. And I say, well done, Ms. Summers. You have another winner with this book. I also thought the idea of adding recipes for different adult beverages in theme with the chapters was quite a novel idea. I give Fiji On Fire, Fiji On Ice Four and half Delightful Divas.
