Even through the harsh chemical smells in the hair salon, Ansley's scent is like a punch in the gut to Roan. Knowing she is his mate, and a mortal, has him fighting the urge to claim her as his own. Hoping to ease into telling her he is a werewolf, Roan prays he has the control to take things slow. But when it comes to Ansley, he must fight the wolf inside him or risk scaring away the one woman that was meant for him.
Jen’s Review: I was taken away to another world in Roan’s Fall, the first in Marisa Chenery’s newest series called Roxie’s Protectors. If this book is any indication, it’s going t
o be one heck of a series; a guilty pleasure that I, for one, will indulge in.
The plot line is engaging. The tempo is quick and smoothly flows from the first page to the last. While this is the first book in the series, it is related to the characters that were developed in her earlier series, Wulf’s Den. I would imagine that reading that series first would increase your enjoyment of this book, but a reader’s satisfaction shouldn’t be diminished in any way by starting here. Everything starts fresh in this new series but past characters are in attendance and they definitely entice you to read the first series, while still not making it mandatory. My guess is, much like myself, you will be going back to find out where you should pick up her previous series as well.
I am very eager to find out where Ms. Chenery takes all of Roxie’s Protectors.
