Summary: From the moment he sees handsome Liam McCullough showering naked behind a Tunisian bar, ESL teacher Aidan Greene wants to screw the sexy bodyguard. At first, though, a dead courier and beefy hired thugs get in the way. But Liam soon convinces him -- with wiles and smiles and solid logic -- to join him on a race across the desert for a rendezvous with a Tuareg tribe at a remote oasis. Then nothing can stop them from getting naked and getting it on. Together they explore the passion Liam hid from as a closeted Navy SEAL, and the love Aidan's missed after his long-term boyfriend kicked him to the curb.

From the back of a motorcycle to a Turkish bath to a remote dune in the desert, these two Romeos find ways to bring each other to the heights of pleasure. So what if they’re carrying the password to a million-dollar Swiss bank account and being chased by Libyan intelligence agents determined to stop them at all costs? Love and lust fuel their passion and not even three wrong turns in the desert will keep them from surviving this adventure alive -- and together.

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable. Anal play/intercourse, male/male sexual practices.

Kathy’s Review: This book was a real joy to read and I’m thrilled to have discovered the writing of Neil Plakcy. Three Wrong Turns in the Desert turned out to be a lot more story than I had expected from reading the summary. That is not to say that it didn’t appeal to me before I started reading the book; I just had a different vision of how it would go. More of a sex-here-sex-there-sex-everywhere story and less the quietly suspenseful and very sensual tale it is. The romance aspect of the story was wonderful as well. It was not overdone, not the hearts-and-flowers fall-in-love journey, but two men who see something in the other that makes them want to reach a little further than they’re used to. Aidan’s recently been dumped by his long-time lover and Liam has learned to keep his heart well-guarded, so neither is looking for someone... but so often that’s the way it works! I loved the way Mr. Plakcy built on the sensuality and romance with each encounter between Liam and Aidan. As they learned about each other, as they felt a connection that neither had experienced before, they were learning more about themselves as well.

Three Wrong Turns in the Desert is also a wonderful adventure. The action begins with a bang and leaves Aidan and Liam both reeling, for rather different
reasons. While Aidan is, in many ways, in over his head, he’s smart, quick to react and can think on the fly... definitely qualities that keep him safe, if not a little freaked out. Liam, having been a SEAL, is much more used to dealing with the unexpected; it’s what he trained for after all. Together they make an amazing team and it’s very interesting following them as they work their way towards the desert and the Tuareg tribe they’re to meet.

Neil Plakcy gives us enough description of the places and people they encounter to add verisimilitude to the journey; certainly what I read is intriguing enough to pique my interest in the locales. When they were sweating buckets in the heat, I swear I could feel for myself the discomfort they were going through.

One thing that I want to remark on about Neil Plakcy’s writing is that he doesn’t inundate the reader with detail. We are left to assume certain actions throughout the story and I very much enjoyed it. There were lots of bits and pieces that we were never meant to know totally, but it adds realism and immediacy to their flight and struggles.

This story appealed to me on a number of levels; the steamy sex, the burgeoning romance, the friendship and the thrills of their journey. As I mentioned before, Neil Plakcy’s Three Wrong Turns in the Desert was far more story than I expected... and I reveled in it!

Rated 4 ½ Delightful Divas by Kathy!
