Summary: It's three times the pleasure - ten years on!
Eric Courtland, his wife Ally and husband Nick have been living the sweet life for the past decade, tucked away in their luxurious Tuscan villa. But when a family crisis brings them back to the States, blackmail and an unexpected revelation threaten the delicate balance of their marriage.
Weathering this storm may take everything they have - and still tear them apart.
Amy's Review: Triad, Courtland Chronicles Book #5 by Cat Grant is a wonderfully written story that grabbed me and held on through the whole book. Triad is part of a series, but this was the first one that I read. The story line was easy to follow and the characters were easy to get to know and fall in love with without needing to read from the beginning to understand what is happening now. This story flowed so well, and with su
ch ease, it would have been easy to see this story go on and on while keeping the reader intrigued the whole time!Ms. Grant touched on so many subjects that anyone can relate to; love, heartache, aging parents, death, life, illness, not to mention scorching hot sex! Not too many times can an erotic story evoke such strong feelings that you can feel like you are holding back the tears, only to want to be laughing out loud the next minute! The main characters in this book, Eric, Nick and Ally, have a love for each other that is so clear, that even when things get muddled, the reader is hanging on by a string in hopes that love really will conquer all.
What I am looking forward to is going back and starting from the beginning to see how these three ended up together. I want to know how 20 some years ago, Nick and Eric fell in love, the struggles they faced, and how Ally eventually comes into play. Nick is the strong, athletic, silent one that stole my heart from the start. He seems to be, at times, an outsider in this love triangle. And even as the sometime outsider, to me, he is the glue that holds everyone together.
I loved that there was enough of a history given that I could understand where all three characters had been previously, but not so much that I was overwhelmed with stories from the past. It was so refreshing to read about everyday life. Reading is an escape route, many times taking us away from what is happening in real life, and creates a world full of excitement that involves murder and mayhem to keep the reader enthralled. Triad dealt with everyday things that any of us could be or will be experiencing at some point in our lives, and it was still exciting and heartfelt. For me, Ms. Grant knocked it out of the park with this one!
