Summary: Professional bull rider Judd Romeo is a contender for the world title. He defies death for a living. But now he must deal with the death of his mother by settling her estate. Returning home to Kentucky, he runs smack dab into the arms of his high school sweetheart, a woman he’s never forgotten.

Veterinarian Mandy Sullivan learned early on that risk-takers are trouble. Having custody of her sister’s child, she is working hard to be both mother and father to the abandoned girl, and doesn’t count on trouble showing up next door.

Mandy discovers she can’t avoid the famous cowboy, and she’s never quite put him out of her mind. When Mandy’s sister comes back threatening to take away the little girl she loves as her own, will Mandy finally realize Judd is not the same man he once was?

Melissa’s Review: Kentucky Cowboy by Jan Scarbrough is the first book in the Bluegrass Reunion Series. When I heard about this series, I knew I just had to read it because I live in Kentucky and because I love the thought of two lost loves reuniting and finding their second chance at love with one another.

Mandy is an independent, stubborn and very strong woman. She is a loyal woman and she sticks to her word. I found myself wanting to bang my head on my desk several times throughout this book because she is so stubborn and not very open minded. It was nice to watch her personal growth throughout the book. I was so happy when she came to her senses. She always wanted to be her best at everything, and I think by the end of the book, she achieved that.

Judd is also stubborn and strong. He also aspires to be the best he can be. Judd is a big, tough cowboy with a huge heart. I simply loved him. Mandy and Judd are so alike, but they cannot see eye to eye because of the similarities. Needless to say, these characters were very realistic and just a little more than frustrating because of their personalities, yet I loved them both and was so happy when they finally found their way to one another.

Jan Scarbrough did an excellent job with these two characters. She wrote in a steady pace and smooth flow, and brought the characters to life in my mind. I look forward to reading the other books in the Bluegrass Reunion Series.

Rated 4 Delightful Divas by Melissa!
