Playing For Keeps (The Smith Sister’s Trilogy, Book 2) by Stephanie MorrisPublisher: Amira Press
Genre: Contemporary Interracial Romance
Review Copy Received From AuthorSummary: Keirra Smith has never met a man more self-confident, overbearing and irritating and she wants him. Only she isn’t willing to admit that she does. Eric Brooks lives a lifestyle that she doesn’t want any part of but he won’t take no for an answer. Knowing that she is fighting a losing battle she gives in. After all what better way to prove to him that they are incompatible than to give into everything that she wants . . . he wants.
Deb’s Review: Playing for Keeps is a real winner. Stephanie Morris has written a sensational romance that is sure to touch the heart of all who read this book. The characters are amazing, funny and down to earth. Playing for Keeps is the second book in The Smith Sister’s Trilogy; Keirra and Eric's story.
Keirra is part of a set of identical triplets. The relationship she has throughout this book with her sisters is one I admire. I was able to get a feel for them all, but was able to stay on track with Keirra's story.
Eric, if you had to pick a hero it would be him. He has great qualities, but faults as well. He had me laughing so hard with his antics and I found myself cheering him on.Another wonderful addition to this book was the second string characters. For goodness sake, all I can say is that Stephanie Morris made the family trait in this book stand out. I have never laughed so much. Eric, poor Eric… I felt his pain. *laughing* The interactions with his and Keirra's families were hilarious! The triplets add their own style of fun to this book as well. I felt the connection between the sisters. I also got a glance I hope of Kayla's story. Is there romance blooming between Kayla and James, Stephanie?
Playing for Keeps has its share of passionate scenes as well as a little bit of heart stopping scenes. Mums the words on those, of course. *grins* It all just rounded out this book quite nicely. If you are looking for a wonderful book full of family love, passion and tons of laughter then Playing for Keeps is the right book for you. I know once I read it, I could not wait to see what happened next. Stephanie Morris is a true delight beyond words! She pens such heart-catching books that you feel as if you are in the story with her characters.
