AJ’s Review: Would you wait two centuries for your soul mate to be reincarnated?
Angelus Cronen has loved and lusted after Vivienne, now reincarnated as Veronique, for over two centuries. She’s the only woman who has the power to set his cold, yet sensual body on fire. There’s only one problem. In their past lives, Angelus was human. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case. How will a 200 year old vampire explain to the love of his life that he’s a dead-man walking? Moreover, will he be strong enough to fight the beast within from claiming her as his own? Is patience truly a virtue when it comes to love, lust, and more importantly, soul mates?
With her dark mocha skin, and sensual, toned body, Veronique is every man’s dream, which is perfect for the oldest profession in the world. But this well-paid call girl has a few tricks up her sleeve, such as being a healer, an aura reader, but most importantly, a psychic. Therefore, she knows that her life is about to change drastically. The only question is whether or not it involves the sexy, exotic stranger who lurks in her dreams every night and sets her body on fire, but more importantly, is it for better or worse. So, when she receives a call from the dark stranger of the night on her day off, she can’t help but accept his invitation to a night of scorching hot sex. As excitement permeates every cell in her body, she wonders what her night of debauchery will bring. Will Veronique/Vivienne give into the dark, sexy vamp that’s destined to be her soul mate? Will they be able to forgive one another for their past indiscretions? Moreover, will she be willing to stay with him for eternity?
Soul Seduction is a short story that packs a punch. Angelus and Veronique are enticing characters that draw you into their story. Their love for one another is intense and holds a hint of danger that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Ms. Knight does a wonderful job at the beginning of the story as she flashes back in time to allow the reader a little more insight into how Angelus and Vivienne/Veronique met. The conflict that Angelus and Vivienne/Veronique experience throughout the short story is not realistic , but also help the characters and story come alive on the page.
However, I must admit that I wished the story had been longer and provided more insight into how Angelus was turned and what happened during the time he and Vivienne were apart. Unfortunately, there’s only so much you can put in a short story. Don’t get me wrong. My hat goes off to Ms. Knight because the glimpse of Angelus and Vivienne’s past lives work for this extremely short story, even though I would have liked more background information about the characters. Yet, it was just enough to pique my curiosity and have be me begging for more. In fact, I hope that Ms. Knight writes either a prequel, sequel or maybe both to Angelus and Vivienne’s story because I would love to read more about these two. Bravo to Ms. Knight for providing us with a sensual, heart-warming story that’s soulful, enticing, and will have you begging for more. Soul Seduction is the perfect title for this paranormal erotic romance and I would definitely recommend it to my friends.
