Summary:
Vahe Patten is a Watcher in the King's guard. The vampire king, that is. As a Watcher, Vahe executes vampires who break the only major vampire law: keep the secret. When Dylan Andrew starts leaving his murder victims for the human authorities to find, something must be done. While in Haven, Vahe enters the dreams of a woman plagued with nightmares of her past. When he sees Dylan flirting with her in a bar, he knows she'll be his next victim.
Natalya Woods just wants to avoid her ex-husband. The small town of Haven, Maine seems perfect until she's attacked in the street by, literally, the man of her dreams.
Stacey’s Review:
Natalya is a real woman that readers can relate to. She’s struggling on her own to start her life over after escaping from her abusive ex-husband. She’s paranoid that he’ll find her, but has also made herself strong despite her experiences of the past. Natalya doesn't deny her feelings, like some annoying heroines tend to do, but knows what she wants from Vahe early on. Her inner dialogue had me laughing out loud.
Vahe is a vampire determined to protect Natalya and the community from the crazed vampire, Dylan, that has his eye on Natalya. Vahe is sexy, and irresistible.

Fear of Darkness was written in a first person point-of-view. I enjoyed the writer’s voice, plot, pacing, and humor of this novella. The romance was sweet, and the sex scenes were hot, dream ones and real ones, especially the one in the kitchen. There was also enough action and suspense to keep me glued to the pages.
I look forward to more books in this series, and Honoria Ravena is definitely a new author to watch for.
