Summary:

Doc Lewis had been in love with Rocky Rodriguez for more years than he could remember but he always knew that his wish to be with the man would never come true. But when circumstances throw them together in the Seelie Court, something changes and the two men give into the desire between them. Their encounter ends with Rocky making a comment that drives Doc from him with a broken heart.

Doc decides he needs to put plenty of space between him and Rocky and going on a mission back to the human world seems like just the thing. Only, the mission doesn’t turn out quite like Doc expected when he meets, Monte, the Seelie Elf he’s been sent to rescue.

Monte is unlike any man he’s ever met and Doc falls quickly for the little elf, bonding with him. But they're being held by government scientists in a secret research facility. Escape is their only possible way to be together, especially after the lead scientist grows concerned over how close they’ve grown to each other and threatens to separate them.

Between fighting for their lives, the misgivings that fill them all when Rocky arrives to rescue them, and the lack of prenatal vitamins, can these three men find each other? Or will they lose everything because of their doubts?

AJ’s Review:

I’m totally fascinated and in love with Ms. Glenn’s new Dark Court series. Every book leaves me hanging on the edge and begging for more and Monte’s story is no exception. Like Elgin, he quickly found a special place in my heart. I’m not sure where Ms. Glenn’s inspiration comes from for this series, but it’s freaking-fan-tastic.

Monte’s Marines is a captivating story about love, miscommunication, possessiveness, understanding, and most of all forgiveness. Don’t get me wrong, evil is always lurking, but Doc and Rocky will do anything to get Monte home safe and sound where he belongs. Monte’s Marines is well written and the characters are well developed as they display their emotions throughout the book and draw the reader into the plot of the story. Monte, Doc, and Rocky will take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride that will have you laughing, crying and at times, so angry at the evil men who have captured Monte that you want to kick butt on their behalf. In addition, Ms. Glenn allows the reader insight as to what makes each character so vulnerable through their fears and sexuality, which only brings them to life.

Literally, I couldn’t put the book down. In fact, I made the mistake of starting Monte’s Marines late one evening and didn’t put it down until I finished, which was in the wee hours of the next morning. Great book, but hard on the lack sleep when you have to go to work the next day. Yet, I have no regrets. Well, except the part where the book came to an end. The suspense that Ms. Glenn is building with each story in the Dark Court series is fascinating and I can’t wait to see what will happen next. I’m anxiously awaiting Conall’s and Sareed’s story. I’m not sure what happened toward the end, but I know that Conall is one unhappy camper.

Ms. Glenn, I must ask, when will the third book be ready? Are you able to give us a little hint in regards to the choice that Sareed made which upset Conall? Will they find their Happily Ever After because I believe they may be soul mates? I also can’t wait to see how Monte, Doc, and Rocky handle fatherhood. In addition, thank you for providing us with a follow-up in regards to Zack and Elgin’s little bundle of joy. This series is absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for a heart wrenching, sensual story that involves Marines who kick butt and know how to protect their own, then Monte’s Marines is the book to read. I’d definitely recommend Monte’s Marines to my friends and can’t wait for the third book in the series. Bravo, Ms. Glenn! You’ve hit another homerun with Monte’s Marines and the Dark Court series.
