Jae’s Review:

After finishing book one in the Lusting Wild series by Marilu Mann, I couldn’t wait to start on book two, Changing Hearts. Marilu Mann has outdone herself with this book. I don’t want to give anything away about Malcolm, so it will have to suffice to say that when I entered the story, I didn’t find much to like about this character. Somehow even with all the things going against his likability, the reader is drawn to his character. You wanted to know more; the reasons why he was the way he was.

Joie, on the other hand, is such a strong, yet compassionate, character that you can’t help but immediately fall in love with her. The road to happily-ever-after is fraught with pitfalls for these two, but the adventure to get there is superbly written and engaging the entire way through.

I cannot emphasize enough how good this series is. So far this is my favorite book of the series – and that’s saying something considering how much I liked the first book – but we have one more book to go and if this trend holds true I can’t even fathom how great the last book will be.

Marilu Mann had me laughing and crying throughout Changing Hearts…it’s not just a story you read, it’s a story you take part in. You feel along with the characters. To me that’s the mark of a great tale, when the characters come alive in your mind.

If you haven’t read anything by Marilu Mann, you should definitely get one immediately. Start with book one, Changing Times, though because it’ll make book two, Changing Hearts, mean that much more.
