Summary:

When small town librarian Ebony learns of her illness, she is devastated to think of the many things she has missed out on in life…especially true love.

Ashe, however, has experienced nearly everything during his considerable years as a vampire and thinks only one thing about love…never again.

When fate throws the two together on a journey laced with deceit and lies, Ebony and Ashe discover the one thing neither thought to ever find love.

Can Ebony convince Ashe that true love lasts forever? Can Ashe overcome the betrayal of his past in time to save Ebony?

Shelly's Review:

Darkest Hours by S. K. Yule is a sexy vampire tale. Ebony can see Ashe when no one else can. This can only mean that Ebony is Ashe's life mate, which he tries to ignore. The chemistry is immediate between Ebony and Ashe, but the author doesn't let them give in to it immediately. But once she does, things steam up quite nicely. This book is not all about sex, but there is definitely a perfect blend of romance and sexual encounters.

When Ashe tries to protect Ebony from a mysterious attacker, he soon realizes that he'd do anything for her. Ebony, who is dying of cancer, also realizes that her feelings are changing fast. This story moves along perfectly, with bits of sadness and many happy, loving moments along the way.

Although Ashe has to decide whether or not he’ll change Ebony into a vampire, he must also get her permission before he can do so. Ebony isn't sure that she wants to be a vampire and has to think about it. In the meantime, Ebony's best friend Avril and Ashe's brother seem to be experiencing one of those love-hate relationships. Hmm, maybe S. K. Yule will have a story in the future for them. If so, I'll be there to read it. Darkest Hours is a very exciting read and I'm looking forward to reading Ms. Yule's next book.

Rated 5 Delightful Divas by Shelly!
