Summary:

Katzman Warrior Trajan Varl was sent to Elquone by his friend, Chellak Rai, to find a doctor for his mate. When Elquone's High Ruler won't let the doctor, Saris, leave without a contract, Trajan has to refuse. His laws don't allow slavery.
The High Ruler then reclassifies Saris and he is taken away to be retrained as a pleasure slave. Trajan now has no doctor to take back to Katzman. More than that, Trajan suspects that Saris is his mate.

Determined to find out and bring a doctor back as ordered, Trajan breaks into the training facility and rescues Saris, spiriting him off the planet in his ship. When they are attacked, they take an escape pod to a nearby planet.

The emotions the mating cycle evoke in both of them threatens to tear them apart before they can even get together, and they are still being hunted. Can Trajan convince Saris to be his mate and save his life, or will he lose his mate before he can even claim him?

Dream Mate is the sequel to The Katzman’s Mate and picks the story up a few months later. When Trajan is sent to find a doctor to help Demyan it is anything but smooth. Trajan and Saris are attracted to each other but when Trajan refused the contract, Saris is moved from being a doctor to the bruters to a sex slave training facility. Trajan knows that he cannot leave Saris there and breaks Saris out. Saris has a hard time believing Trajan when he tells Saris that slavery is outlawed on Katzman because of the way he has been raised and the way things are done on Elquone.

When Toc Jerell, the chief advisor from Elquone, attacks the space ship in an attempt to recapture Saris, Trajan is determined to help his mate escape using the pod. Unfortunately, when the ship is hit and Saris realizes that Trajan is in trouble, he goes back only to find Trajan unconscious, which makes Saris even more determined to get both of them to the escape pod in spite of Trajan’s orders. The reader sees how Saris can take charge of the situation as he rescues them from the destroyed space ship. It’s obvious that the men have feelings for each other, but they struggle with communication at every turn, which will make for an interesting relationship complication in the future.

Stormy Glenn pulls you right into Trajan and Saris’ story. Dream Mate is fast moving and filled with emotions that go from despair to amusing to ecstasy and all over again. Trajan and Saris clash at times since they both have very strong personalities, but the reader can see that they belong together and the sex scenes are fiery. It was wonderfully to see Demyan and Chellak again and though the male pregnancy was a little different than anything I have read before, Ms. Glenn writes the storyline so well that it is believable in the world she has created. I’m still hoping for a story about Caprian and Yerik.
