Summary:

To Mischa, life is simple. Doms are Doms and subs are for fucking, flogging, and bossing around. Until he meets Tom, that is. Tom is deeply offended when the stranger in the bar takes him for some kind of slave boy. Well, offended and more than a little excited by the thought of surrendering to Mischa. Mischa being Mischa, their meeting results in Tom losing his virginity in a way that's hotter than even his wildest fantasies.

Mischa is drawn to Tom and makes another appointment. And then another, initiating Tom to every kink Mischa knows. They aren't scenes, of course, because Mischa has a "one boy, one scene" rule. But then again, Tom isn't exactly like his usual boys, and Mischa finds himself falling in love, though nowhere near ready to admit it. Luckily, Tom isn't exactly your stereotypical slave. Life is good--until Tom gets attacked and Mischa has to fight harder than ever to make Tom realize that he isn't going anywhere.

Donna's Review:

A Russian Bear is the story of a Dominate male unexpectedly finding his perfect sub.

It is refreshing to see characters that enjoy a sexual BDSM relationship written as intelligent, professional people who happen to enjoy/want/need this particular form of sexual relationship. Not only are the main characters, Mischa and Tom, interesting people with full lives but the long-term friendships Mischa has with other Doms are also portrayed constructively. They know one another well, laugh, tease, come to one another’s assistance and enjoy one another’s company.

The laughter, tenderness and eventual love that Mischa and Tom display, both in and out of their BDSM relationship, is touching. While the scenes are often quite strong, Mischa is always aware of Tom’s pain level and is able to judge exactly what Tom needs. The depth of their relationship as a couple is demonstrated after Tom is beaten and it is unclear whether he will ever be able to again be involved in a physical relationship. Mischa lets Tom know that it doesn’t matter to him, that their love is stronger than that.

I enjoyed this story, but would like to be sure anyone planning on reading this book is aware that there are many male/male anal sex scenes as well as domination and submission scenes with paddling, flogging and the use of a well stocked playroom as part of the storyline. The use of pre-play negotiations, safe words and aftercare are reinforced regularly.

I would love to see more books with this case of characters from this author. Toby, the Dom who owns the club, and Phil, the Martial Arts Sensei, are both great characters. Andy is adorable and seems perfect for a follow-up story, maybe even with Mischa and Tom.

Rated 4 Delightful Divas and by Donna!

Thanks for the great review! For your information: Yes, Andy is perfect for a follow-up story - as a matter of fact, it's already half written. He's such a sweet guy, but he's been through some really bad stuff... So hang on, there will be more from this universe.
Best, CB Conwy
