Review Copy Received from Publisher Summary:
Tommy Marsh lives a good life. His first twelve years were hell on earth, but the last nine have more than made up for it. He's living alone, mostly, in an apartment that was part of the Scarcity Sanctuary, built and run by Soldier Marsh and Dillon Kramer. In the years since he was adopted by Soldier, he's gone to school to become a counselor. He's worked with abused children, just like he once was, and he's proud of his work.
There's something missing, though. Tommy wants a relationship like Soldier's. He wants to be part of a loving couple, sharing life and love. And he wants it with Daniel Anderson. Tommy has learned to love Daniel over the last few years, working closely with him in their shared profession. But Tommy is afraid his past will interfere. A traumatic event sets things in motion, and he’s forced to admit his feelings and face his fears. Will Daniel’s love be enough to get him through?
Kathy’s Review:
I’ve had the previous story—Soldier—in my TBR for months and when I saw that this was a follow-up story, well suffice it to say it gave me the impetus to finally move Soldier to the read file. I really enjoyed the first story and really, if you’ve not read Soldier before Tommy’s Story it’s a good idea to do so. Tommy’s Story could stand alone, but the experience is much richer if the books are read together. There’s a lot of background from the first book that explains some of what happens in Tommy’s Story.
I just have to say that, once again, AKM Miles has captured my imagination and heart. She’s one of those authors whose books I have either read or are in my TBR; she tells wonderful stories about people who have often gone through some kind of trauma, people who’ve learned to survive and none more so than Tommy.

His life, before moving in with Dill, was heartbreaking, but with the love and total acceptance he got from Dillon, Soldier, and Daniel, he’s managed to grow beyond his past. And his goal in life is to be able to do for others what these three men did for him. His feelings for Dillon and Soldier are those of a son for well-loved fathers, but his feelings for Daniel – well just believe that familial feelings are NOT what Tommy feels.
The conflict is not what I was expecting but it was well done. As a matter of fact, I was frothing at the mouth over what Tommy was facing; needless to say I was cheering as he triumphed. And the fact that his love for Daniel was returned! Bonus!
A short story with a lot happening and a wonderful connection to Soldier, Tommy’s Story by AKM Miles is a real feel-good tale that is sure to add a smile. Of course, the same may be said for anything written by the author. AKM Miles’ stories are always 100% riveting and extremely satisfying.
