I've really enjoyed the Blood Slaves series by KyAnn Waters and was excited to start book 2, Iron Man. Rafe and Adam's relationship is very different from the previous story. In Iron Man, we start in the middle of a previous relationship. Adam is torn between his love of Rafe and his desire for a normal life. I loved the emotional twists and turns that Ms. Waters's takes her readers on throughout the story.

Although the beginning starts off at a slower pace than the previous book, it kicks into gear in no time for a solid flow throughout the story. I thought the ending was excellent and I'd tell you that I can't wait to start book 3, Dark Man, but the truth is I've already started it…I really couldn't wait. 

The world that Ms. Waters created is unique and interesting; it is by turns violent and sensual. A definite read for anyone that enjoys a powerful vampire tale.

The sweet scent of sex permeated the air and seeped into his psyche. Adam paused at the perimeter of the room along with the other men, absorbed in the delicious display of masculine strength and sexuality.

Positioned in the center of the room was a metal-framed contraption. Sections of loose chains hung from the sides and short pegs held cuffs and tools. It resembled a guillotine, but instead of a blade, draped chains were anchored to a bar running across the top.

A bald man had his arms chained above his head. Biceps bunched and bulged, ropy veins popping from the strain of the effort. Amber light reflected off his head and his hairless body--a blood slave--glistened with oil. A gag bit was wedged between his teeth and a stretched leather-and-chain upper-body harness caged his tanned torso. Beads of sweat trickled down over corded eight-pack abdominals. Shackles banded his ankles and kept his legs spread.

Adam swore and swallowed hard. His gut clenched and pressure closed in on his throat. Rafe knelt in front of the chained slave, mouth wide, eagerly bobbing on his cock. Behind the slave, a third man had the slave's cheeks spread as he buried his face in the slave's ass and tongued his rim. Adam took a step into the room. A thick-fingered hand grabbed on to his arm.

Adam snapped his head around. "Don't." The one word rolled from his chest like a growl. The man released him and he stepped fully into the room. He stood behind Rafe. Wet sounds of sex fogged his mind, drowning out the sounds of the crowd.

"Is the room closed?"

He flattened his palms on Rafe's bare chest then slid his fingers to the steel posts pierced through each flat, beaded nipple. Adam pinched and twisted the steel--hard. "You're hot."

Rafe gasped and reared back. "So are you."

"I'm supposed to be." Adam wasn't the cold-blooded bastard who couldn't wait until he arrived. "Who?"

Rafe chuckled. "Jealous?"

"Did you fuck him?"

"Would it matter?"

"Yes."

"I'm glad you're here."

"Did you really think I could stay away?" This was their place. At home, Adam was submissive to Rafe but here they were partners. In The Catacombs, they'd been Masters of their room.

This wasn't their room and Adam wanted in.

"I hoped not," Rafe said. "You've never been able to stay away before."

"He is, for now, and you have to earn your way into the room the same way I did." Rafe nodded toward the vampire standing behind the slave. "He has the biggest cock you've ever seen." As if on cue, the vamp stepped forward.

Adam tugged on the gauntlets that encircled his wrists. "I'm ready. How does he want it?"

Rafe grabbed a measure of chain, spun Adam around and looped the chain through the rings on the gauntlets. Adam arched as his arms twisted and the chain tightened.

"Hard." Rafe flicked his tongue along Adam's neck. "Miss me, did you?" He nipped Adam's earlobe and tasted around the shell. Then he whispered, "But I'm the only one who is going to bite you--the only one who will fuck you."
